Korean Spice Viburnum

I have a question about my Korean Spice Viburnum. I had mail ordered a small plant last year. It was put into the ground at that time, mid-summer. It had 3-4 leaves. I say had, because something has eaten them during the winter. My question is, will there be any hope of recovery for this plant? There are still some woody type stems, though no green. I am just wondering if I should just plan on finding another, or give this some more time as the plants are just waking up now. If I remember right, this is slow growing, so maybe in May I should see some leaves?
Thank you in advance!!!

| Not an evergreen shrub. Shouldn't have been killed by browsing, either. Repeated browsing could kill it through starvation (plants feed themselves by making food in their leaves). |

| The sure test is to scratch a branch near the tip and see if the tissue underneath is green and moist. Don't give up yet, new plants may take longer to leaf out in spring! Jim |
