Type Gardenia 'vietnamensis' into google and it will tell you where to find info. I tried to post the link here, but I got a warning that this particular vendor has spammed the forums and is not blocked.

They say 'vietnamensis' is a rare variety with unusual flowers (long thin petals). It looks pretty to me.

rosieo, I would keep it!! bewitch is right, it is rare, and very fragrant. It looks similar to the tiare, or tahitian gardenia. Lucky you!

Apparently one thing that is special about this species "Garendia vietnamensis" is its resistance to soil nematodes.

They do fine on their own roots in our S Florida sandy soils where the more common ones must be grafted.
Ours here at "Jesse Durko Nursery" in Ft Lauderdale are have done fine for over 4 years - no grafting/spray program, etc!

Also, they don't suffer from scale/sooty mold like the most common species do.
All this is true for the other species we have here:
"Kula" Gold Gardenia (from Thailand), Camellia Gardenia, "White Gem" dwarf Gardenia, and Gardenia radicans (another dwarf).
