Just a quick hello to everyone, not sure who all is still around, though I do see MeyerMike just posted (hi Mike, congrats on the gardenia blooming in winter! HOLY MOLY! Hope butterfly and everyone is still around!

My evil gardenia is actually alive and well. I even have pictures I'll post later. But, (in stage whisper) I found out how to keep my gardenia alive!

I use worm castings. That's the secret! Seriously, it works! At least over the winter, to keep my gardenia from dying, I wait until it is pretty dry (the pot gets really light when I lift it) and then I drench it. I also don't put it in very strong light which seems to help it from croaking. I fertilized it in the spring last year with worm castings and it seems to keep it alive and green too. Occasionally I use liquid iron to keep chlorosis away, and a used tea bag to keep the soil acid, but so far that's it.

Tah for now, will post pics soon.
