Replanting a hyacinth

My wife purchased a beautiful, fragrant hyacinth (hyacinthus orientalis) and we want to place it in the flower bed next to some others. I've forgotten when it's best to do this (should it be done after that plant has lost its blooms, leaves turn brown, etc.? Refresh my memory please.

Hi Tom,

The best time to transfer your Hyacinth from pot to garden is after blooms fade away.

Enjoy their precious scent indoors while flowers last.

Hyacinths will not rebloom the same year they're placed in the garden. However, they should pop up, every year from then on. Good luck, Toni

They transplant to the garden very easily.

They don't resent root disturbance as some daffodils do.
