Grosso lavender, no growth

Planted 10 lavandula intermedia 'Grosso' in the ground 2 weeks ago, in acidic well-drained soil, SW exposure, 6hrs of afternoon sun. They were potted 6"-8" sizes.

They look to be healthy, green, but have no growth whatsoever. Is this normal? Am I watering too much? I know lavenders thrive on neglect, but the nursery said to water well during the first year. We are on a hillside and it drains really well, so I have been watering every two days or so.

Be patient. They won't start to grow for several weeks.
Lavenders need well drained,limey soil in a sunny place. It will be interesting if yours thrive in the acid soil. Over-watering will kill them for sure.
The most durable one for me has been the hybrid 'Fred Boutin'

Thanks Mike519, you are right and the lavenders are starting to show growth. My soil is not very acidic, about 6-6.5. I haven't added any limestones yet, I am hoping lavender's easy-to-care-for reputation holds.
