Fragrance Needed...

Last year we had to remove three hollies from a space in our new landscape, which we now would like to fill with fragrant flowers or low-growing bushes. We live in Central WA (Zone 5) and this area of the landscape faces south, getting full, often intense sun in the summer. It can also be fairly windy at times, although a grove of cottonwoods blocks much of the wind coming off the lake. We did add about 8 inches of topsoil to the property before planting because while the original soil drains well, it is somewhat rocky and tends toward clay.

I have included a picture below that shows the area we would like to fill.

Thanks!
