Hi John, I'd love to go with you on one of your China trips. Which part of Anhui did you visit? Yellow Mountain maybe? Flora of China says G. jasminoides is native to Hubei. G. jasminoides var. jasminoides is from most of the provinces south of Shandong. Your photo seems to be taken in late winter/early spring. Did you find any flowers?

Daxin: Nice to hear from you. I have not on the web for some time. I was at southern Anhui, HuiZou. The city is part of Huangshan territory. The locals intended to develop a very huge area as nature camellia trail by grafting thousands, thousands of C. oleifera with all kinds of camellia show flowers. It shall be a tourist resort garden for week end to relax also for fishing and hiking. They want to add more attractions besides of fantastic Huangshan. Most tourist are local people and many of them have their own car. So different than that of years ago.
I was there in Feb, no flower.
