Beauty of Moscow liliac

My BOM is 4-5years old. It has some blooms this year but my concern is the leave "Curling' The leaves began curling on the bottom branches and has worked it way up the shrub. There is no insects, spots, browning or dropping of leaves. Now I note on the leaves that are curling up that the stem that connects the leaf to the branch is tightly curled-like a small spring or the old fashion telephone cords. Anyone seen such a thing? Is it a virus or abnormality? Other lilac's near are fine. We have had a weird weather setting for the last year, hot summer-warm winter with little snow cover etc.
