Believe that the species is jasminoides, and a cultivar or selection of that species is Augusta. Should see this one referred to as Gardenia jasminoides 'Augusta'.

Sorry about the error. Augusta is a synomym of the jasminoides species. I was thinking of the cultivar 'August Beauty'. Yes, the nomenclature would be so much better if one name was utilized to designate that species.

G. "four seasons" is also called G. "Aimee". The shrub is still upright, but not as upright as the August Beauty. The leaves are dark grossy green and the flowers are 4-5" large. It can grow up to 8-10' large, about 8' wide.

This one of the most beautyful, or maybe the most beautiful gardenia. It is definitely on top of G. "Mystery", another large nice gardenia.

You'll have to call around to find it. I know Monrovia(spelling?) grows it.
