I have received two 5 foot plants and place them on our deck at the far end of the house. Morning sun with shade from 12 noon on. When bloom starts in early Sept, I can turn on my attic fan and fill the house with the most wonderful scent. I only wish I could get 9 month bloom and not have to overwinter.

Cappy, are you saying Gardino's sent 5' Michelia Alba, or has it grown that size since you bought it? Toni
PS, why do you say it's over-rated?

I keep my alba indoors the whole year, and it blooms almost continuously. Just this past week, we had a few very warm days, and the scent was especially strong in the house. I also find it easier to care for than my gardenia.
