Very nice, and very interesting! I'm curious to see what hybridizers will do with the new species and cultivars that seem to be making their way west these days.

I germinated gardenia seeds once and grew so many seedlings into one gal size plants. But I am not a gardenia breeder. I know it takes thorough planning before cross pollination. I am very much so involved with camellia hybridization. I hope some one will step in to breed new gardenia for fun. A common gardener with heart toward gardenia may become a gardenia breeder. The sentimental and horticulture value will last beyond our life time.

Another flower is blooming from a grafted plant. The petals are more pointed. Sometimes the petals can be slightly long and narrow. Sometimes the flower can be double petal flower form. Once I propagated about 12 plants and most of them were given away.

Now I need to study this gardenia again.
