Pandanus odoratissimus

At the end of the month, I'll be sending away for 10 seeds. I'll keep a male and female for myself, and give away any extras. Has anyone here grown these before? Is there any easy way to tell their gender before they are old enough to flower?

I don't think anyone can tell gender before they flower without some sort of very fancy DNA testing -- maybe the way to go is to keep 5-6 and give the rest away, in case space is tight as it usually is.

That's good idea. I'll keep 6 for myself in my one current south window. I'm ordering 10 seeds from Palmseeds.

I'm going to give away a couple of dissappointing plants that are currently taking up south-facing space. The rose scented geranium that has no rose element whatsoever, and the huge, ever-flowering Cestrum nocturnum which kind of smells like toilet bowl cleaner. :)
