nice photos. every one i have seen at nurseries in containers were also yellow-leaved. once you get them into acidic soil, they begin to recover and the foliage looks normal.
the leaves on yours don't look nearly as bad as the ones i see around here for sale.
mine does not flower at this time of year. i'll bet the fragrance is intense during hot days like we are having now.

I bet the scent is fantastic. I bought mine a year ago and it's still in the same gallon pot. I wish the bloom would hold on but it seems to blow quickly. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Kasie, there is an enhanced banana shrub which is known for holding the flowers for extended time. I think it is developed by New Zealand.
