First of all, what zone do you live in? The yellow leaves are very common with gardenias, have you been fertilizing with miracid? I am no expert by any means, but I can tell you there are tons of info on this forum about the downfall of gardenias. What has worked for me is I fertilize with miracide every two weeks, according to directions on the box. I also add chelated iron once every 4-6 weeks at recommended dosage or less. I also add epsom salts once every 3- 4 weeks. This plant is very high maintenance. I live in FL, it is very hot and humid, so I water my plants 2-3 times a week. I just planted mine Dec. 07. A few months ago someone recommended Bayer's Advance once a year insecticide. You just put some diluted solution in the soil. It worked really well for me. I had aphids on them and after I added the Bayer's, I have not had any problems since. I really like this product and I used it on all my OUTDOOR flowers. Be careful you may not want to use it for indoor plants because it is systemic. If you try it wait a while since you just applied insecticide already. Give the plant some time to recover, give it water when needed, but don't add too much fertilizer right now since it is stressed. Maybe try a half dosage of miracid just to help the yellow leaves, or try some epsom salts to start with. Good luck!
