why are gardenia leaves bending downwards?

Hello,
I have a gardenia that I made into tree form indoors. It is from a 2 year old cutting that I took from a prior plant.

It is currently growing and branching out and has a few buds that are ready to bloom. This is its first time setting buds.

Lately I've noticed that all the leaves on the bottom of the plant are bending downwards. The petiole is curved down from where it meets the base of the leaf.

The top leaves are normal and the petiole is straight. I though nothing of at first because it occured in a few leaves. Now there are a lot more leaves that are effected.

I currently have the plant in a bathroom window that receives eastern morning sun. It is growing in al's 511 mix and I water it every 4 days. I fertilize it weekly
and add epsom salt as well.

The plant is otherwise healthy and all leaves are green.

Thanks for your time
