Do your gardenias act wierd like this???

All my denias are loaded with buds, BUT, that is a but, the buds open one at a time!!! LOL
I can never get my denias to flower fully all at once..
Is it a curse for mine, or do you have the same problem.?
Everyday, I have a new bud open while the old one dies...ONE AT A TIME..... I just can't seem to have a fully flowered denia, many at once, even outdoors in the sunny warm weather!
Oh well...Lol

i don't consider it a problem but prefer that they open in phases like that. allows me to enjoy the show a lot longer.
for example, the photo that i posted earlier of the 'daisy' shrub is done for now. the plethora of flowers was quite spectacular while it lasted but they turned yellow after a few days and the display is done. there are only a very few remaining that are still fresh looking.
'mystery' is just now beginning to flower and there is one more open than there was 3 days ago. that assures me of nice cut flowers to bring inside for a longer period.
just a different preference for me, i reckon, but i like them either way.

I kind of like it that way too, come to think of it.
It is like anything else around here from spring to fall. Just as soon as, let's say my azealas flower, they are gone within days with just a green shrub all summer. Same with peonies and rhodies..Everything.
Hey, great way to look at it.
I just thought maybe my denias had some wierd problem going on....
I have seen some here on these threads with them in full bloom such as the beautiful ones pulvgrl has..wowowowo....lol
Thanks!
Think I will take it ONE flower at a time...:-)

Hi Mike,

You don't know you are blessed. Mine is doing the same thing BTW. I think it's a good thing, because you can enjoy it much longer.

If you have 100 chocolate bars, do you want to eat it in a day or 100 days? I would rather one for each day. It's just me.

LOL! I'd feel pity for you Mike, but any buds that I ever got (save 2 flowers) usually explode in flames! ;>

Hey, enjoy the show..that way you can savor their enchanting perfume for a long time..instead of a one time wham bam thank you ma'am! :D
