"Miss Kim" appears to be resistant. Haven't had any on it yet including during times when I've seen some on my James McFarlane lilac and my peonies, honeysuckle, and crape myrtle were covered with it.

We are in a break from a recent hot/humid spell and one of my honeysuckles had already started up (I hit it with some fungicide). The mulch in my James McFarlane is dusty white, although the leaves are still holding and Miss Kim is doing well. And with respect to her, if you did get one, you might want to consider a location with some afternoon shade because I noticed that she can fry and defoliate during extended heatwaves up here in my area and mine gets morning sun mostly, with a tiny bit of late afternoon/setting sun.

Yes, afternoon shade is a must here in Texas too because the lilacs will fry instead of defoliate. My first lilac came from Wayside who advertised full sun for them. That is what I gave it and what a big mistake! Now I have it planted east of some crape myrtles which provide shade in the afternoon. Problem is I have some water sources (creek, pools) so I have been considering switching to a more resistant variety than Purple Persian Lilac.
