Does your lilac bush already have powdery mildew?

Oh My God! It seems that, once the bloomage stops, those pesky white spots and cleistothecia become more pronounced around here. As dry as Texas can be in the summer, this is always surprising.

But once the surprise passes, I recall the cause... Euonymus Bushes! They get anything and everything that is out there. And that is quote from someone at HD! HD who continues to sell those bushes in areas where they really should not sell them!

Geez, the bushes came with the house and had a bad case of PM. After determining that the bushes were TROUBLE -in capital letters- they got shovel pruned. But man! When I pulled out, you could have believed that a nearby car had misfired and blanketed me in a cloud of smoke. Yuck! That is where the PM on the lilac is coming from.

But now to my question for y'all... has anyone seen on the Internet any list of lilac varieties that are resistant to PM? Anyone out there already suffering from the same? Misery likes company!

TIA,

Luis
