Burnt up looking night blooming jasmine

HI
I live in HI. Right now it is very hot and dry.
I have had this night blooming Jasmine in a 10 " pot for approx 4 months. It keeps looking like it is going to flower then the parts get yellowish brown and wither up. I have tried watering more...less. Sun...shade...fertilizer...calcium....pruning.. I am out of answers. The leaves get spotted yellowish white. I add a calcium pill and it gets better. I love Jasmine and would love to try and piece this no blooms dilemma.

Thank you

NB jasmine needs a lot of water during the growing season. It's also a fast grower, so it may have outgrown the 10" pot already -- hard to tell without seeing it. It also needs at least a half day's sun to bloom well, so it needs enough soil around the roots, and a sizable root ball, to soak up all the water it needs.

The spots suggest either too much salts in the water -- do you have water softening in your tap? -- or, maybe, spider mites. Have you looked under the leaves and in the flower buds for what looks like tiny spider webs? If it's mites, spray with insecticidal soap every couple of days for at least 2 weeks. Don't spray, of course, when the plant's in full, hot sun; morning or evening is best.

Hope this helps rescue your plant!

Jim
