Does Sweet Grass have a scent when growing? Is it a strong scent? Or, does it only smell strong when dried?

I think I planted it in my very small bog garden where a 'grass' has taken over. I'm trying to determine if it's sweet grass. It has a light scent but not like what I remember and certainly not like the dried braids do.
