did the rain get it?

We bought a sweet almond verbena from Maa's Nursery. It is about waist high. The blooms wafted their fragrance all over the yard. Then the rains came and came and came. When the sun finally came out the leaves on our bush curled up and then dried up. Should our bush recover from the roots? Should we cut it back?

You should try cutting back some twigs and branches to see if there is any green underneath. If not, then your plant may be a goner (sorry). Have you noticed any recovery since you posted this question?
