Gardenia - rooted cuttings - when to pot or plant

Based on the helpful information on this forum, I've been successful in rooting cuttings taken from my daisy gardenia. Stuck them 6-24 and roots are already showing in the pot.

At what point do I pot individually or can I just plant right into their permanent spots in the bed?

My thanks for all who take the time to share their personal knowledge. You help to make gardening much more fun.

Mary

Mary,, when you say bed, do you mean the garden? If so, I'd wait until Gardenias are fully established, well-rooted plants.
Is Daisy Gardenia hardy to z7b? It might be a good idea if you transplant some in the garden and overwinter others indoors, in case it's too cold for such small babies.
As for separating, you might want to pot individually so roots don't tangle as they grow. Pot accordind to root size, in other words, don't overpot, especially now that autumn is nearing, I hate to say..:) Good luck, Toni
