I don't live in San Jose so I can't tell you but you can get it on the internet (goggle 'michelia champaka for sale'); if you want to get it locally, I would try places in Chinatown that sell plants (maybe in SF?). I got mine from a store in Chinatown here in Chicago. Good luck!

Will have to be protected whenever temperature is predicted to go into freezing zone, and take precautions to prevent water logging the rootzone in winter (if you plant it in the ground).
