No, I've not tried this but you live in zone 9-A or B? The Stephanotis can freeze dead in bad winters. My J. polyanthum's not growing that well in my sandy soil. If you mixed the steph with carolina jessamine or confederate jasmine, they'd likely take over. You might want to check others in your area growing the J. poly.

Thanks for the advise. On Martha Stewart's site there is info. that says it is ok to combine these two but I wonder if they took into consideration how big everything grows here in my climate.
