Help - Michelia Alba

I have two types of alba's, the larger leaf one seems to be doing well, the smaller leaf one seems to be dieing... The blooms are turning brown and dieing before fully opening, and the leaves are all drooping and a few are browning along the edges. Both get about the same amount of water and the same amount of sun, this last week it was over 100 degree's, I am afraid they are getting to much sun. The smaller leaf tree is over 10' tall and in a 24" box, so I cannot bring it inside. Does this sound like to much sun?

I believe the larger leaf tree, do to its larger leafs, and more of them, helps to shade itself, the smaller leafs are more spread out and subject to sunlight more.

Should I be misting the leafs during the day? I read that misting the leafs in the morning help, but not to do it mid day. I am just not sure what my options are. I have pictures and happy to send them to anyone, however I do not see how to attach them to this forum.

Thanks for any help anyone might be able to provide.
