I love fragrant hostas... actually I love hostas...
they refuse to grow in my area though so I don't even try anymore.

Please tell me which Hoyas you have that are fragrant. Rareflora is so close to me and he has excellent hoya collection, but before I go there, I am trying to find out which ones I should be looking for..Thx.

Next spring, mikey, remind me to talk about this with you. Its too late in our season to plant a new hosta bed... but I have an 8 foot patch non fragrant hosta I can replace next spring ... I have two friends who want my current ones so im glad I wont have to kill them. :)

I don't see Hostas down here but used to have many fragrant ones in OH. This is going to sound strange coming from me, but I didn't like the ones with purple flowers because I never smelled one that had any fragrance, just the white ones. I had about 25 different kinds at the height of my Hosta addiction but wouldn't do that again. They looked different to me, but nobody else noticed. Were I to buy one again, I would only do it while blooming, to make sure that particular plant had wonderfully scented blooms (just like roses! Sure an unscented rose is still pretty, but why intentionally devote space to one when there are so many that smell great too??!) The wonderful scent is the best feature of Hostas, IMHO, though I was originally attracted to the variegated leaves (and fun, enticing names.)
