Help! I am now killing my gelsemium sempervirens!

I think it got over watered by my DH and now it's leaves are drooping. Is there anything (short of letting the soil dry out, it's potted) I can do to save it? I know that jasmines like the soil to dry out, I'd hate to lose this one!

Let it dry, but not too much, and then keep it evenly moist and wait for new growth. If you suspect serious root rot, you may have to pull the plant out and cut off dead, brown mushy roots.

A trick from orchid growers -- after root pruning, dust the cut ends with cinnamon; it has anti-fungal properties and may help prevent further rot.

Hope it works! Sorry about the spousal accident, I guess I'm lucky that my DW has such a brown thumb that she never touches anything of mine!

Hi Jimshy! Thanks for the advice, I will try it!

My DH can grow tomatoes and cukes but will kill houseplants, does that keep him out of the 'brown thumb' category? ;)

I'll let you know how it goes! Is your DW a serial plant killer? :D
