Yesterday I saw an amazing new variety called 'Felix' that has enormous deep pink flowers up to 12 inches across and quite fragrant too. It was so big I could stick my whole face in the flower and drink up the perfume :). I want one.
I recently bought a Magnolia 'Heaven Scent', but I haven't had a bloom off it yet so I don't know how fragrant it is yet.

I have read about'Felix' but it's not available here yet I think but I did find Mr. Jury's older hybrid named 'Vulcan' and recently bought it. It's still a small plants at 1 foot but I think it's forming flower buds for next spring already! :D

Would you know about the fragrance for 'Vulcan'?

'Vulcan' looks amazing. I have seen it flowering recently, but the only flower out was just out of reach for sniffing :(. Even if it doesn't have much perfume I would buy it just for its amazing color. From what I have read it is lightly perfumed. If I see one in my travels blooming (magnolias are flowering profusely now) I will check it out for you.
I ended up buying a 'Felix', but will most likely get a 'Vulcan' too regardless of fragrance at some point.
