I just read somewhere that they like alkaline soil and the article recommended palm fertilizer. I have the same problem with the orange champaca and I will be trying that with hopes that it works.

I planted one a few weeks ago. The yellowish leaves with green veins concerned me so I gave it some iron. Whoa, that was a mistake. Leaves started turning brown and new growth started drying up. I hope it makes it.

Mine are also light right now, and I think that's because of the growth flush. Many plants have slightly different colored new leaves, and then, with age, they become normal.

I can see by your photo that your plant does have a slight iron deficiency, by looking at the interveinal chlorosis. However, the last poster says how easy it is to harm the plant with iron. That is true. I would dilute the iron % by half, and spray it on the leaves early in the day, and keep the plant in shade for a few days afterwards. HTH
