Can Michelia Alba cuttings be used to propogate?

I got some cuttings which a neighbor was throwing away. I think it is M Alba. He was pruning it because it has not yet flowered and he does not know what it is. The tree came with the house. Can I use the cuttings to get small plants? Should I trim off all the leaves in the branches before planting it in rooting medium? Thanks.

It's not impossible, but very hard. I heard one guy did that successfully. The only reliable way is through the air layering.

If you say that it is not impossible, I can try. Nothing to lose as I am already propagating a bunch of other cuttings. I will stick this in and keep watering this one too. If I get any success, I will post back here.
