Am looking for a specific jasmine

I have been searching for a jasmine that has six petals and is larger than the typical star jasmine. It is "cleaner" in appearance, althought the blooms die much more quickly. The smell is intoxicating. My mom has one and calls it 'Egyptian Jasmine," because vendors make necklaces out of them and sell them to couples along the Nile. My neighbor has one and calls it, "Syrian Jasmine," because it is "just like the jasmine back home."

I bought "sngle poet" jasmine which smells nice, but not quite the flower I'm looking for. Any leads?

Could be J. nitida? Check out several vendors that offer pictures, such as Logees, Gardino's, Almost Eden and TT.

Is it a vine-type or bush-type jasmine?

It could indeed be Jasminum grandiflorum or J. officinale considering Egypt does produce essential oil from either. So I think you can probably find these in Egyptian home gardens or even around the Middle-East. You probably got ahold of a different clone or variety of Poet's Jasmine.

Keep in mind that different varieties can vary in scent. In the case for Jasmine sambac, for example, the intensity of the scent will vary among the different cultivars. For other species of Jasminum it could be more than the intensity of the scent that is different and might have different notes.
