Need help with Ylang Ylang plant

Hello plant lovers,

I need your help.

I just received bare rooted Ylang Ylang plant. It is planted in peat moss, without any leaves, and with wilted and some dark brown branches, but green, thick stem. Plant is about 10 inches tall. I cut off all dark branches that seemed to be dead and I placed plastic bag with holes over it to conserve humidity and moist. I also watered the plant.

I'm new at this and not sure how to re-pot the plant into a bigger planter. What mixture of soil to use? Should I plant it with peat moss that it came with, or remove it (it seems to be tangled with roots)? Should I keep it in small planter for some time until the plant adjusts (until I see new growth), or can I plant it right away? And what about fertilizer? How much water, and how ofter?

I'm in Chicago, and plant is kept indoors. Temperature and humidity seem to be optimal for the plant.

I appreciate any advice and help!

Thank you,

elmq
