substitute for jasminum sambac

My mom loves this plant, and it has traditional religious and cultural significance. But blossom midge (Contarinia maculipennis) has made it truly impossible to enjoy - flower buds never develop, unless I'm extremely diligent with pesticides. Since touching/smelling the flowers are the primary appeal, even judicious use of pesticides defeats the purpose.

Does anyone know of any similar jasmines that are resistant to blossom midge, or even other species that might substitute? Rare or hard to find is perfectly fine, and I'd be happy to order online in this case.

She's expressed dislike of star jasmine. She's being treated for a serious illness right now, and I'd really like to find something to make her smile.
