| Hi yall. I was just wondering if any of yall are growing Artabotrys. I have one of these plants, and am having the hardest time getting it to grow. I have had it for over 6 months, and it has only grown maybe 10 new leaves. I changed its soil a few weeks ago, to put it in a better draining soil, and noticed that it had grown almost no new roots the whole time i have had it. Does anyone have any tips on how to get this plant to grow? I have read that it is a pretty fast, and easy plant to grow. I keep it in my greenhouse where it doesnt get too hot during the day. What do you to fertilize it? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Justin |

| Artabotrys hexapetalus is a vigorous vining shrub from tropical Asia, so give it as much warmth and humidity as you can afford. Well drained soil will definitely help. It seems that your plant is just not established yet. During the growing season (May to Sept.), you can use dilute fish emulsion everytime you water to acidify the soil and to promote leaf growth. After the plant is mature enough (4-6'tall), you can switch to high P fertilizer for better flowering. |
