The only things I know about ceanothus is what I've read about in books. I did see that in Trees and Shrubs for Fragrance by Glyn Church he says Ceanothus 'Burkwoodii' is supposed to have a heady honey fragrance.

I know!! My sister got it for me for my nameday and I can't wait for it, she will bring it over when she visits in 3 weeks for election drama.
I also ordered more vita sackville west observer articles in a nice blue edition these days, plus the rhs encyclopedia of plants and flowers!!

Yea the cold weather has got me ordering super cheap books off Amazon again.

So far I've ordered: Scented Containers: Great Ideas for Year-Round Fragrance by Sue Fisher, The Scented Garden: How to Grow and Use Beautiful Plants to Create a Harmony of Fragrances for Garden and Home by David Squire and Fragrant Gardening by Steven Bradley. :)
