My Brunfelsia 'Isola' finally bloomed tonight! I love the light lavender color! At first the scent reminded me of cold cream (it was lightly scented). Now it's starting to smell better like B. gigantea however B. gigantea so far blows B. 'Isola' out of the water with its sweet perfume like scent with undertones of clove. Of course B. gigantea is freaking huge and becomes a monster. So far B. 'Isola' is much more manageable if you don't have the room like me. Kemistry recommends B. jamaicensis for scent. It has a mango and lavender scent? I don't know but I want to find out! Laugh.
B. nitida smelled strongly of cloves to me though I only got two blooms out of it. No sweet perfume mixed in like B. gigantea and B. lactea. Speaking of B. lactea the scent is nice however it's been a stingy bloomer for me so not worth my time.
And that's my brunfelsia thoughts so far, folks! ;)
