Nobody growing hardy gardenias?

| OK so Kleims and Chuck Hayes are old news and most people have not had success in zone 6 despite the nursery hype. So let's turn the page and discuss Frostproof and Diamond's Fragrant Delight. These are supposed to be the hardiest to date. I have a Frostproof planted out last spring which has made nice growth and will endure it's first winter soon. It's against a south facing stone wall and I plan to mulch lightly and lean an old window against the wall to protect and warm slightly. Yesterday I bought a Diamond's, which will winter in a pot in an unheated sunroom. Surprised by it's HUGE leaves! I walked right by it in the greenhouse the first time! Anyone have any success (or failures) with either of these? |

| Hines collapsed, supposedly due to gross mismanagement so if you are interested in the Frostproof buy it while you can. |

| Not sure I understand your post. What is Hines? I already have "Frostproof" in my garden against the wall. |
