The new emerging leaves will have a light green color then change to the darker green as they mature. At this time of the year, due to temperature and depending on the plant's location, it is very common to also see a third color, a maroon or deep dark red tint to all the leaves.

By new emerging leaves you mean newer? There wouldn't be many emerging leaves in November/December, would there? I suspect that one section is newer than the other. I pulled a lot of vines off all the trees and bushes here years ago so after than I did get some new growth. But would there be new growth after the fall?

I'll go look at it tomorrow but I suspect, from what I remember it looking like recently, that most of it is dark green. Maybe two shades still but darker overall. (I did see some deer nibbling on some newish leaves yesterday so maybe there is more new growth on there than I am thinking... but only in spots, not so clearly dividing the bush into two sections/colors.)
