I hate to do this to youguys who live in colder zones. I was doing some cleaning outside today and i came across my lilac bush which is leafing out. Lilacs are really sad things in my zone, its not cold enough. They bloom, but because there is very little winter chill, they bloom weakly. either way, i should be smelling lilac blooms by the end of January.

| It's always good to have a reminder that spring will be back. Unfortunately you did get me to thinking about my bushes. We are having an unusual warm spell this week with temps from 40 to 60 degrees. And winter is expected back after the week is back. Do I need to worry about my shrubs? Most of them were planted this fall. |
