I don't know what would be a common commercial variety in the US but it looks similar to Dollar Princess. BTW you can raise many many more plants from yours if you wish. Fuchsias root very easily from cuttings.

Dollar Princess is the best shot. It's one of the most widely grown hybrids. It's NOT hardy, however, unless you live in a region with very mild winters and even then the slightest frost will damage it, so you are right to protect it. It's very easy to grow from cuttings, however, and flowers early from the same.

I'm not a fuchsia expert, but it looks very much like a Winston Churchill (I purchased one of this variety at Churchill's home in Kent a few summers ago for a friend who loves fuchsias).

Thank you all for looking. I kept it in the laundry room all it survived the winter it is putting out new foilage. It was so pretty last summer it looks like I might have it again this summer.
