Fuschias are Sprouting...

Hi All,

Last Fall I pruned back my fuschias and put them into the spare room in the cellar. I had forgotten about cutting back the tap roots.

Yesterday, I checked my fuschias and they are sprouting. Which leads me to a couple of questions. First, is it too late to cut back the roots? Second, is it too soon to start them back - I am in zone 5. Third, my fuschias are very dry - should I leave them or give them a drink?

I would appreciate any advice on this.

Thank you,
Carolyn

No, go ahead and prune the roots and put some fresh soil in; keep the soil damp not soaked. Wait until danger of frost has past to move out.

Rain,

Thank you. I did prune back the roots and repot them. I also put them under lights. The one really looks good and has a lot of green, the other one is coming slowly.

Carolyn
