does any one know if a fushia can thrive being planted under a bay tree? I was wondering if it would do ok with the Acidic soil if I dug a large hole and replaced it with good potting soil.

I was waiting to see if anyone got back to you with an answer, I donТt want to hog this place, but it seems not.

The ideal pH for fuchsias is 5.8 (Moderately acid: 5.6Ц6.0) and in my area of the UK we have no problem with this. It may be that where you intend growing the plants may be a little too acid but until you really know what the pH of the area is it may be a Сsuck it and seeТ situation.
