Fuchsia Looking Woody

I have had this lovely fuchsia (dark eyes?) upright bush for a few years now. It has been a good bloomer and stands about five feet tall. Of late, I have noticed that it is getting rather woody with sparse foliage. I gave it a light prune about three four weeks ago, but I don't see any new growth. Should I prune further or wait and watch?

Come on all you Fuchsia grower's down there, give pkayen some input. I could only tell her how I treat mine, which are all in the greenhouse for the winter. Since I have just started to plant the hardies up here in Z 7/8, Z10 is a different ballgame.
