Upright Fuchsia Koralle lives!

My fuchsias survived the winter! They have plenty of new growth, and are easily twice the size they were when I bought them for .99 apiece last summer. I'm getting ready to repot. Unfortunately all the new growth is at the top. They look really leggy - should I have pruned them at some point? Also I there is something wrong with some of the leaves on one. They are lighter in areas, look almost blistered, as if there is something inside them. (I'd send a picture but DH borrowed the camera for work)
Any advice?
TIA
Leslie

RE: Upright Fuchsia Koralle lives!

Hi Tia,
The triphylla types of which Koralle is one are inclined to loose their bottom leaves anyway. It is best to cut them back in late Autumn to approx. 6 inches, you can still do it now but it will delay flowering by approx. 8/10 weeks. Yes, a picture would be most helpful of the one with lighter/blistered leaves - Kath :)
