| Hi all! I just bought a fuschia in a small plastic pot at a Farmer's Market. It has red petals and a dark purple bell. The plants are about a foot and a half tall. I just moved to the panhandle of Florida. Should I keep it inside, plant it outside....what does this plant need?? Please help me..the grower at the market wasn't very helpful!! |

| you can either plant in a pot or plant in the ground if it is a hardy variety, remember to dead head the flowers as they die & feed with a high potash food, which will boost a lot more flowers!-cheers mark in the uk! |

I recently purchased several variety of Fuchsia at a local nursery. I have been feeding them weekly with fertilizer. I water them every other day, daily depending on how warm. Will they stop blooming after the weather gets warmer? Our Summers get pretty humid and hot in Memphis. How should I care for them this Winter. I understand there are hardy varieties, would they survive are Summers? All are shaded by a covered patio, and we have a very wooded lot. They recieve filtered shade from about 12 noon until late afternoon |

| Fernzilla, I believe most of your questions are answered on this forum's FAQs. I'm a relative newbie too, and have become infatuated with these beauties. |

Hi Fernzilla, To encourage continuous flowering always remove dying or dead flowers otherwise the plant will give its energy to producing fruits/seed instead of more flowers. As Gina said you'll find a lot of the answers in the FAQ's, if not please come back - Kath:) |

| Fernzilla--I'm in Memphis too! I bought a fuchsia at Lowe's and hung it in the shade. I have to water it every day, especially with the 90 temperatures we've been having lately. I watered it well in the evenings, and by mid-afternoon the next day, it was wilted. I'm thinking of putting it in a larger pot so that it will be able to retain more water in the soil. Janey |
