Hi Barb and Tight,
I was in a local nursery today. There were three hanging planters of obviously different varieties of fuchsia. All had tags listing "Fuchsia X hybrida" followed by a generic description of what could be any fuchsia ("come in a wide variety of bloom shapes and colors" - yeah no kidding!).

What I don't understand is, if they don't want to or can't list a variety name why don't they just list it as "hybrid fuchsia" so everyone would know its just a general category? This whole "X hydrida" business just confuses the issue.
