RE: no blooms???

Hi swtp

If the plant was a double variety (more than eight petals) it will take approx 10-12 weels for any buds to develop into full flowers. If it was a single (4 petals) or semi-double (4-8 petals) this will be from 7-9 weeks.

You can feed the plant with a good general fertilizer 20:20:20 at half strength every other watering for the first couple of weeks while the buds are developing, changing to a half strength high potash feed (tomato feed is good) before the flowers open and continuing this for the rest of the season (with a one off watering of Epsom Salts if needed).

You must remember to dead head the plant as soon as the flowers die off (they usually last about 10-14 days) removing the green pod (seed pod) behind the flower in order to promote continuous flowers.

What you must also remember is that this plant was probably grown 'soft' to get it to a saleable size and have flowers on, it may have suffered a 'check' which was nothing to do with anything that you have done and it may take a little while to recover from this.

Hope this helps and let us know how you get on.

Good Growing.

Tight....
