Tips on encouraging fuchsia to bloom?

| Still only on my 2nd attempt out w/fuchsias (smile), so not too familiar with timelines. After searching the FAQ's, and elsewhere, I haven't been able to come across anything that recommends how to encourage the plant to bud up. Is there feeding, culture, or mere patience ;-) that can help my hanging fuchsia in getting started?
Thanks,
Kathleen in TX |

Yes Kathleen, Feed with a balanced feed NPK 20-20-20, it usually says something like once every 10 days on the container instructions. For fuchsias dilute the feed to a quarter strength and use every watering. Some people go on to a higher strength of K to encourage flowering, if you do this it is inclined to make the stems go woody - Kath:) |

| Patience. The flowers will come. Hopefully you've been pinching all spring to produce a bushy plant. If so you'll have plenty of flowers. They say it takes about six weeks after you stop pinching. The plus side of showing patience now is that your fuchsia will continue performing right through December (if weather permits). Andy |
