La Campanella, true from seed?

I happened to see on a website that La Campanella can be started from seed - would this mean it is a species more than a variety? I put it into a search engine to check, and came up with B & T World Seeds and some info on it, although they were out of stock of the seeds.

La Campanella is not a species, it was a chance seedling rather than a deliberate cross, parentage unknown. whether it will come true from seed I don't know.
