Blooms losing color?

Posted by WebDragon Rapid City SD (My Page) on

Hi all! I'm not sure if this question went through with my last post. I apologize for spam just in case!

Anyway, I have a new Indian Maid fuschia, which was bought nearly in bloom on a couple of flowers. Now there's a second wave of blooms coming, but the outer petals are very bleached and a lot smaller than the ones before. It's also dropped a few small buds here and there. I have it in a well-aerated spot with some filtered sun. I've fed it a diluted 8-8-8 fertlizer every week, and kept it moderately damp. I've also trimmed off a lot of stray foliage to shape it a little. Any tips for boosting this plant back to its former glory? Thanks in advance!

Hi Webdragon,
It sounds as if you are giving it the correct situation and care.
Your feed of 8-8-8 applying diluted once a week isn't really enough, change to full strength twice a week. After 2 weeks let us know if it has improved - Kath :)
