How do I grow from the pods?

Hi everyone. I'm new here and new to gardening. I've always had a bit of a brown thumb but this year I've been doing better. Now, I have a fuchia in a hanging basket on my porch and it has a ton of seed pods on it. How can I grow them from the pods? Do I need to take the seeds out of them and dry them out? Do I just plant the pods? Please someone fill me in. I'd love to have an even better basket next year that I've done myself :)

Those "pods" are actually berries. Quite edible if bland. If you let them completely ripen (actually the seeds will sprout even if green), you will find soft pulp inside and tiny seeds.

Those seeds will germinate if kept at mild temperatures and high humidity, sort of like Begonia seeds but cooler. Don't bury the seeds; they are so small they germininate better exposed to light. Keep humidity high, but ideally ventilation should be good too to discourage disease.

How do you seperate the seeds from the pulp?

I've separated the seed two ways, either by squishing the pulp on a piece of paper towel then picking out the seed or squishing the pulp into a cup of water, the viable seeds sink to the bottom. Sometimes there are lots of seed, sometimes there are just a few and sometimes there isn't any.
